There are 3 dashes outside the left frame. This item may not technically belong to the 'String of Dashes' group.

Comments

Most of these "String of Dashes" CPVs show the dashes in the upper left.
Several authors have recognized these marks.
Marler refers to "a dotted guide line that appears inside the frame either in the upper left or the lower left". This may be a reference to these CPVs.
Reiche (No. 9) clearly indicates these CPVs. He may well have noticed the marks in the top margin as well.
