2¢ Carmine 6-L-13-6

A vertical guideline in the right margin near the right frame and two guide dots at right centre and another below the lower right corner.

Comments

Marler's notes indicate that this could be either of positions 5-R-14-3 or 6-L-14-3.

From the location of the straight edges of this stamp, we can see that it is clearly from position 6 of a booklet pane.

Leopold Beaudet has identified the position as 6-L-13-6 using notes from his observations of the plate proofs at LAC.

Leo's Notes

Faint vertical guideline in the right margin close to the frame.
Faint line at the LR corner going down and to the right at a 45° angle.

  • Guide dot in the right margin at the midpoint, close to the frame. The guideline goes through it.

  • Guide dot in the bottom margin below the right frame.

  • Guide dot in the right margin at the midpoint, 2.0 mm from the right frame. The guide dot is the same distance to the stamp to the right, 6-L-14-3, and may fall on either stamp.
