Leopold Beaudet determined the position using the plate proofs at Library and Archives Canada.Leo's notes provide some helpful information: "The line that travels from the lower right part of the A to the lower left part of the G in POSTAGE may seem distinctive; however, it should not be used as a conclusive determination of this position because a similar line occurs on other re-entries on plate 98. The other re-entry markings such as the mark at the top of leaf 4 on the right side and the straight edge on the right confirm the identification of the position."
